Employers Liability
Employers are responsible for the health and safety of their employees. By law, all companies who have employees must have Employer’s Liability insurance. This type of insurance will ensure you can meet the cost of compensation for any employees’ injuries or illness whether they are caused on or off your premises.
Public & Products Liability
If your business is accessed by the public, whether regularly or for ad-hoc meetings, Public Liability insurance should be considered. It covers the compensation costs and legal fees you are required to pay if a member of the public is harmed, or their property is damaged, because of your business activities.
If your business designs a product, Products Liability insurance covers the costs of compensation claims should anyone get injured by a faulty product that your business designs, manufactures or supplies. This cover should be considered for businesses who design, manufacture, sell or supply physical products. Your business could also be found legally liable if your product injures people or causes damage to a property caused by the faulty product.
Buildings Insurance
In the event of fire, subsidence or damage by extreme weather, a buildings Insurance policy can cover the costs of rebuilding or repairing the property. If we feel that the cover provided within a Commercial Combined policy is not sufficient for your needs, we have access to a wide panel of property insurers so that we can provide you with a range of alternative cover options.
Contents, Business Equipment & Portable Items
Most Property and Business Combined Insurance policies will also extend to provide cover for damage or theft to any permanent fixtures and fittings (i.e. desks, chairs and computers) which you may own. Portable items such as laptops and cameras can also be covered on a UK or worldwide basis.
Business Interruption
Following an incident at your place of work, business interruption can provide cover for any loss of profits, ongoing fixed cost compensation, temporary relocation and other additional expenses, for example, cleaning costs and accountants fees. For small clerical businesses who leases a premises, you may only require some increased cost of working cover should you need to temporarily relocate which we can arrange in lieu of full business interruption. For larger, complex businesses, for example, a hospital or factory which is heavily reliant on specialist equipment and facilities, this type of insurance needs to be carefully reviewed and perhaps a tailored policy put in place.
Business Travel & Personal Accident
Business travel and personal accident can protect the business, individual employees and directors due to travel delays, accidents and/or illness. The types of benefits available could include a one off payments or regular payments for set periods of time. Certain additional benefits can be offered under business travel such as overseas medical expenses, baggage loss and legal expenses.
Legal Expenses
A legal expenses policy will protect your business against the potential costs of a legal action being brought against you by another individual or institution. This cover can protect the business against health and safety investigations, tax disputes and employment disputes. Most legal expenses insurers will also give their policyholders access to a 24 hour legal assistance helpline.
